Year 3 Discover Ancient Egypt

As part of our history topic on Ancient Egypt, we visited the British Museum to deepen our understanding of this fascinating civilisation. During our visit, the children explored a range of ancient Egyptian artefacts, including impressive statues, carvings, and objects from thousands of years ago. They were particularly interested in learning about Egyptian beliefs surrounding life after death and how important the afterlife was to their culture. The children asked thoughtful questions, made links to their classroom learning, and enjoyed seeing real historical objects up close. This exciting trip helped bring our Ancient Egypt topic to life and inspired even more curiosity about how people lived, worked, and believed in the ancient world.

Eastbrook School is an Ofsted rated Good, all-through school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and is part of the Barking Abbey family. Founded in 1933, Eastbrook has a well-established history of serving the local community, with many generations of families attending as students and even joining as staff. The primary school opened in 2016 and is growing in size year on year. The secondary school transferred into new, state of the art buildings in 2017, benefiting from purpose-built specialist learning environments with industry level resources and outstanding access to green outdoor spaces.
