Exploring Poetry

27 Nov

In today’s English lesson, we explored poetry in a fun and engaging way, focusing on the features that make poems unique, such as structure, layout, and language. We learnt about the writer Valerie Bloom and enjoyed reading some of her lively and expressive poems. Working with partners, we read the poems aloud, bringing them to life through our voices and really getting a feel for their rhythm and flow. We then shared our ideas and discussed how the poems were structured, thinking about how the way they were organised added to their meaning. It was an enjoyable lesson that helped us build confidence and creativity while deepening our understanding of poetry.
