Exploring Compasses and Maps
Year 3 had an exciting and engaging geography lesson as they explored the world of compasses and grid referencing. The class learnt about the eight points of a compass and how they help us understand direction. They also discovered what grid references are and how to use them to locate places on a map accurately. In addition, the children examined a variety of map symbols, learning what each one represents and how they help us read maps more effectively. It was an interactive lesson that sparked a lot of curiosity, with students showing great enthusiasm as they practised their new skills and worked together to solve map-based challenges.
