Curious Minds at Work: Year 3 Celebrate British Science Week

11 Mar

During British Science Week, Year 3 took part in a range of exciting and hands-on investigations that encouraged curiosity and problem-solving. One of our favourite challenges was designing and building rafts, where we carried out a test to discover which design could hold the most weight while staying afloat. We also explored forensic science by investigating the best methods for collecting fingerprints, before comparing our results to identify different patterns. In addition, the children explored inclusion by taking part in playground games, considering how these activities might present challenges for someone with a disability. They then worked thoughtfully to suggest adaptations and solutions to make the games more accessible for everyone. These experiences helped us develop our scientific skills while also encouraging teamwork, creativity and empathy.
