A Fashionable National Careers Week 2026

On Friday 6th March Eastbrook Year 10 Visual Arts students were treated to an inspiring presentation by Chief Buying & Merchandising Officer for END Clothing, Terry Betts. Terry was previously a Director of Selfridges, is a founder member of Mr Porter and a member of the British Fashion Council, as well as being an old school friend of Mr Nathan!

Terry shared a presentation on his career pathway, discussed some career highlights and took questions from the eager Year 10s. Terry was so impressed by the calibre and engagement of our students, the advanced level of questions and curiosity they showed, saying: “The students are a real credit to you and the school. I’m PROUD TO BE a small part of their journey.”

Eastbrook School is an Ofsted rated Good, all-through school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and is part of the Barking Abbey family. Founded in 1933, Eastbrook has a well-established history of serving the local community, with many generations of families attending as students and even joining as staff. The primary school opened in 2016 and is growing in size year on year. The secondary school transferred into new, state of the art buildings in 2017, benefiting from purpose-built specialist learning environments with industry level resources and outstanding access to green outdoor spaces.
