The Power of Unkind Words

11 Jun

Continuing with our 'Relationships' unit in our Jigsaw PSHE lessons, today Reception learners really began to consider the impact of unkind words. After hearing the story of 'Tyrannosaurus Drip' by Julia Donaldson, pupils thought deeply about the unkind words and actions used by the characters in the story. To bring this learning to life, students completed an activity where they used kind words and compliments to one apple and unkind words and insults to another. When they looked at what had happened to the apples on the inside they were astonished. Sulaiman gave us these very wise words: "You can't always see when something is sad." How true!
