Thankful For Our Fathers

16 Jun

Reception students could not miss an opportunity to show off their Eastbrook virtue of gratitude once again- this time for their superhero daddies. In preparation for such an important event, students took the time to learn and rehearse a beautiful rendition of 'Father's Day I Love You' to the tune of last week's nursery rhyme of the week, Twinkle Twinkle. This certainly started the afternoon off on a high note!

Children had also created their very own colourful cards and masterpiece trophies as gifts. Once the presents had been shared and cuddles had been had, it was time for the main event- a very emotive presentation containing photographs of all of the special dads, grandads and carers who support our youngest learners so beautifully. A few tears were shed as parents stared wide-eyed at the screen reading all of the magnificent reasons why they were the ultimate superhero to their child. To end the gathering, children and grown ups alike tucked into the delicious and beautifully decorated cupcakes which had been specially made by our wonderful catering team. Thursday afternoons don't get much better than that. Jayda said: "My daddy will always be my superhero."
