Sorting and Categorising

To introduce our Data Handling unit in computing, today, Reception learners practised sorting and categorising objects. Children were able to sort the objects on Mrs Turner's tray into different categories. These included by colour, whether the objects felt hard or soft and also grouped according to whether they had curved or straight edges. Everybody blew Mrs Turner's socks off with their confidence when explaining how the objects had been categorised and the items looked much better organised by the end of the lesson.

Eastbrook School is an Ofsted rated Good, all-through school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and is part of the Barking Abbey family. Founded in 1933, Eastbrook has a well-established history of serving the local community, with many generations of families attending as students and even joining as staff. The primary school opened in 2016 and is growing in size year on year.
