Orchestra Magic: Proud Reception Musicians

Our Reception children enjoyed an exciting musical adventure as they explored the different sections of the orchestra. They learned about the string, woodwind, brass and percussion families, listening carefully to the unique sounds each instrument makes and talking about their favourites.

Through interactive activities, the children developed their listening and attention skills while expanding their vocabulary by learning the names of a variety of instruments. They used descriptive language to talk about the different sounds, whether they were loud, soft, high or low, supporting their communication and language development.

We are incredibly PROUD of the enthusiasm, confidence and excellent listening skills the children showed throughout this wonderful learning experience. Their excitement and willingness to explore something new made every activity a joy to watch.

Eastbrook School is an Ofsted rated Good, all-through school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and is part of the Barking Abbey family. Founded in 1933, Eastbrook has a well-established history of serving the local community, with many generations of families attending as students and even joining as staff. The primary school opened in 2016 and is growing in size year on year. The secondary school transferred into new, state of the art buildings in 2017, benefiting from purpose-built specialist learning environments with industry level resources and outstanding access to green outdoor spaces.
