Froggy Fun with Finding One Less!

Our youngest mathematicians have been hopping into their number learning using the much-loved rhyme Five Little Speckled Frogs this week.
Through singing, counting and acting out the familiar song, the children have been exploring the concept of finding one less. As each frog jumps into the pool, we use our fingers to count how many are left, discovering that the number of frogs decreases by one each time.
Using props, actions and plenty of enthusiastic singing, the children have been developing their counting skills and beginning to understand subtraction in a fun, practical way.
Our froggy friends have certainly made learning numbers a whole leap of fun in Reception this week!
