Odd Socks Aren't Odd at All
This week, our school proudly took part in Anti-Bullying Week, including a colourful and joyful Odd Socks Day. Students and staff arrived wearing bright, mismatched socks to celebrate individuality and remind everyone that kindness and acceptance are key to a positive school environment. The cheerful display sparked important conversations about respecting differences and supporting one another.
Throughout the day, classes took part in activities and discussions to deepen their understanding of what bullying is and how it affects others. Learners shared thoughtful ideas about how to be kind friends, how to include others in play, and how to speak up if they witness unkind behaviour. Teachers used stories, circle time, and role-play to help children reflect on their actions and recognise the impact their words and choices can have.
Odd Socks Day also reinforced the message that everyone is unique and that these differences should be celebrated. By proudly wearing their odd socks, students showed that individuality is something to value rather than hide. It was wonderful to see children complimenting one another, showing empathy, and engaging positively with the theme of the week.
We are incredibly PROUD of how our students embraced Anti-Bullying Week, demonstrating maturity, kindness, and a strong commitment to making our school a safe and welcoming place for all.
