Year 10 Students Experience University Life at St Anne’s College, Oxford

05 Nov

Ten of our Year 10 students recently enjoyed an inspiring trip to St Anne’s College, Oxford, offering them a unique opportunity to experience university life firsthand.

St Anne’s College, one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford, is known for its welcoming and inclusive community. The college prides itself on supporting students from all backgrounds and encouraging academic curiosity, independence, and ambition.

The visit began with an introduction to higher education, helping students understand the wide range of pathways available after school and what studying at university really involves.

Following this, students took part in a Q&A session with current Oxford students, gaining valuable insights into university life and the realities of studying at one of the world’s leading institutions.

A guided tour of the college gave our students the chance to explore the beautiful grounds and facilities, including study spaces, dining halls, and lecture theatres.

Later in the day, students joined mini-workshops focused on key aspects of student life — including managing finances, maintaining a healthy social life, and addressing common worries and concerns about higher education.

The day concluded with a short academic taster session, giving students a feel for university-style learning and encouraging them to think about the subjects and courses they might want to pursue in the future.

The visit was both educational and inspiring, leaving students with a clearer understanding of university life and greater confidence about their next steps in education.
