Inspiring Futures Day

On Wednesday 2nd July, Eastbrook School hosted our Inspiring Futures Day, filled with amazing talks and career insights. Students were privileged to hear from several guest speakers, including former students, who shared their personal journeys into a wide range of careers. From traditional professions to emerging industries, our visitors gave Year 10 a real glimpse into the world beyond school.

A particular highlight was the visit from award-winning broadcaster and sports commentator Mr Ronald McIntosh. His story of resilience, passion, and hard work captivated the audience. He spoke with energy and honesty about what it takes to succeed – not just talent, but character, perseverance, and emotional discipline. It was an unforgettable experience for many of our aspiring journalists, athletes, and media enthusiasts.

Eastbrook School is an Ofsted rated Good, all-through school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and is part of the Barking Abbey family. Founded in 1933, Eastbrook has a well-established history of serving the local community, with many generations of families attending as students and even joining as staff. The primary school opened in 2016 and is growing in size year on year. The secondary school transferred into new, state of the art buildings in 2017, benefiting from purpose-built specialist learning environments with industry level resources and outstanding access to green outdoor spaces.

Eastbrook is a thriving and growing community school, welcoming students from a broad range of backgrounds, culturally, economically and in terms of need.
