Junior Citizens
Year 6 students attended the 'Junior Citizen' event at Romford Territorial Army base to engage in a series of workshops intended to increase their independence, health, awareness and safety.
They were made aware of the dangers of drug and knife crime. They now know what to do if they are in a building on fire with a lot of smoke. They know what items can be flushed down the toilet and which ones cannot be, and cause blockages. They practiced boarding a bus and learnt where the safest zones are to sit in. They learnt how DR ABC could potentially help save someone's life. They were reminded on how to stay safe when riding a bike and what to wear to be clearly seen by drivers. “The workshops were interesting and they tested my knowledge”, reported Rejoice.
The children listened intently to the different speakers in the workshops and engaged in activities with zest! They achieved numerous top scores of 10/10 during the workshops for concentration, fact recall and their polite manner. We are hoping that we retain our Junior Citizen champion cup for another year.
