Junior Citizen Event

04 Jun

On Monday 18th May, Year 6 children were invited to the Junior Citizen event at Havering Territorial Army Centre, in Romford. The children took part in several workshops, the main aim was to keep them safe and learn independence.

They learnt how to: deliver basic first aid, protect themselves when riding a bike, what to do if a fire breaks out, how to travel safely on buses and trains, knife and drug awareness. The workshops were interactive and delivered a wealth of knowledge to the children.

After each workshop, the children were quizzed and given a score out of 10. The winning team received a small prize and the results will be complied against all the other schools in Barking and Dagenham for an overall winner.

The children enjoyed the workshops and the healthy competition. Yaseera said, “Junior Citizen was helpful because it taught me life skills that I will need in the future.”
