Bag of Happiness
On Wednesday 2nd July, Year 6 took part in a workshop by the Molly Rose Foundation called 'Bag of Happiness'. Students spoke about things and actions that made them happy, ranging from stroking cats, playing football to eating Haribo. Next the children performed some face gym, demonstrating different emotions. They drew images of what happiness looked like to them and shared their artwork with the rest of the class. There were lots of positive words and phrases used, such as fantastic, smiley, warm glow, nice feeling in my tummy.
Finally, the children received a bag, which they decorated with a labels and stickers. On post-it notes they wrote down memories, times and friends that have made them happy and placed them inside the bag. There were so many beautiful memories and times they children shared with the class. The children took their bags home with them so that whenever they feel a bit sad or down they can reach inside the bag, pull out a memory that will cheer them up. Thank you to our safeguarding team for delivering such a powerful, positive and emotive workshop. We are very PROUD of our children for being so honest and open during the workshop.
