Year 4 Show Real “Guts” at the Science Museum

17 Jul

On one of the hottest days of the year, our students showed resilience, enthusiasm, and excellent behaviour throughout an inspiring visit to the Science Museum.

We began the day in an unusual but much-celebrated way — with lunch! As our workshop was scheduled for 12:10pm, the children enjoyed an early lunch in the museum's picnic area before heading into the “It Takes Guts” experience. In hindsight, this may have been a bold move, as some of the content — while brilliantly presented and highly educational — was a little stomach-churning at times!

The workshop took students on a fascinating journey through the human digestive system, exploring what happens to our food from the moment we eat it to the moment it leaves the body. With hands-on learning and engaging demonstrations, the session sparked lots of laughter, curiosity, and memorable learning moments.

We are incredibly PROUD of how our pupils represented the school. They demonstrated impeccable conduct throughout the day and showed great interest in the science on show — even in the sweltering heat.

A huge thank you to the museum staff, our accompanying adults, and of course, our brilliant pupils for making the day such a success.
