Year 4 Explore Living Things at Eastbrook Country Park

15 Jan

Year 4 students enjoyed an exciting local trip to Eastbrook Country Park as part of their Science topic:  Living Things and Their Habitats. The visit gave children the opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom and into a real-life natural environment.

During the trip, students explored a wide range of plant and animal life found within the park. They observed trees, plants, insects and birds, discussing how living things are suited to their habitats and how these habitats change across different seasons. Children talked about how plants and animals adapt throughout the year, deepening their understanding of seasonal change.

The visit also reflected Eastbrook’s PROUD school values. Students showed Positivity and enthusiasm throughout the day, Respect for the natural environment, and Determination when completing observations and activities.

The trip was an enjoyable and valuable experience that supported children’s scientific learning while encouraging curiosity, teamwork and care for the natural world.
