Pins, Smiles, and High Fives: Our SEN Trip to the Lanes

08 Jan

On the 20th November 2025, students from the Year 8 SEN department went on an exciting trip to Hollywood Bowl in Romford as part of a pentathlon activity. Everyone’s excitement was palpable. The day full of fun, teamwork, and great memories.

When we arrived at Hollywood Bowl, there was a buzz in the air as our students and students from other schools in the local area where reading to get started. Our students were split into two teams and competed against the other schools. Although it was a competition, the main focus was on enjoying ourselves, trying our best, and supporting one another.

All the students showed great determination, and all tried there hardest. Many students improved their bowling skills as the games went on, and it was lovely to see everyone encouraging each other. Three of our students even managed to get strikes. Which made them feel really PROUD of themselves.

Every student who took part received a medal for participating celebrating everyone’s effort and togetherness. The students were very happy with their medals and enjoyed showing them off at the end of the trip.

Overall, the trip was a rally enjoyable and positive experience for everyone involved. The students had lots of fun, gained confidence, and worked well as a team. It was a fantastic day out and one that will be remembered fondly.
