Terrific Trewern

13 May

Our Year 10 GCSE PE students had the opportunity to visit Trewern Outdoor Education Centre as part of their GCSE Rock Climbing assessment. This experience provided students with the chance to demonstrate their practical skills in a range of real climbing environments.

During this week’s visit, students experienced climbing on a challenging indoor wall at the Green Spider in Hereford, as well as taking on outdoor rock climbs at a quarry in Wales. These varied settings allowed students to develop their technique, adaptability, and confidence across different types of climbing.

Throughout the trip, students showed determination, resilience, and excellent teamwork as they tackled each challenge. It was fantastic to see them push themselves outside of their comfort zones while supporting one another. The progress made the students have made over the week has been outstanding.

Students were able to experience the outdoors and have time away from the city. They were able to witness some incredible sunsets as demonstrated in the photos by our resident photographer Ioana.

We are very proud of the effort and attitude displayed by all students during the visit, and we thank the staff at the centre for their support in making this a valuable and enjoyable experience.
