Girls PE Visit the Copper Box

28 Apr

On Friday 28th March, 50 girls from Years 7 to 13 had the incredible opportunity to visit the Copper Box Arena to watch an exhilarating professional netball match. This outing, part of our ongoing effort to enhance our students' cultural capital and deepen their understanding of the sport, has quickly become an annual tradition, with the number of participants growing each year.

The match featured London Pulse against London Mavericks in a thrilling encounter, marking the start of the new season of the Netball Super League 2.0. It was an exciting game, with London Pulse and London Mavericks competing for first and second place in the league. One of the most memorable moments for our students was witnessing the highly anticipated 'super shot' in action for the first time in a professional match. The excitement was palpable, with many students eager to try their hand at this challenging shot in school!

The standard of netball on display was truly inspiring, and the game showcased the incredible talent and dedication within the sport in this country. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to see the professionals perform at such a high level and to draw motivation for their own sporting journeys. As an added bonus, at the end of the match, the students had the privilege of meeting some of the professional players. Many commented on how down-to-earth and approachable the athletes were, making the experience even more memorable.

It’s worth noting that every student who attended this trip has represented the school in netball this year, and they have all been exceptional ambassadors for our school. We are incredibly PROUD of how they have conducted themselves both throughout the netball season and during the trip. Their enthusiasm and sportsmanship continue to inspire us.

We are already looking forward to next year's trip, and we hope to see even more students join us for what has become one of the highlights of our school calendar!
