Year 10 Historians visit The Palace of Westminster

18 Dec

Our Year 10 historians had a full tour of both Houses of Parliament and were able to view the House of Lords in session walk through the House of Commons. Our parliamentary tour guide Khadija was an ex-Eastbrook student from 10 years ago, and she was fantastic at sharing lots of stories about the school and the history and workings of parliament. Students also had the opportunity to meet Baroness Garden of Frognal who talked us through her fascinating role in the House of Lords and what it is like to work at Westminster. We finished with a walk up to Trafalgar square to see the famous Christmas tree, and to walk past horse guards’ parade and Downing Street.

Once again, our Eastbrook students were a credit to our school, asking fantastic questions, being engaged and conducting themselves with respect. Well done Year 10, a brilliant day had by all. We are PROUD!
