Launching the Eastbrook Maths Independent Learning Award
Following on from the success of last term’s Mathematician of the Week, we are excited to introduce the Maths Independent Learning Award, a new initiative recognising students who show outstanding commitment to their independent maths practice through MathsWatch. MathsWatch is our online learning platform where every student has their own login. It offers video tutorials and interactive questions aligned with the curriculum, allowing students to revisit topics and strengthen their understanding outside of lesson time.
This award celebrates students who consistently go above and beyond with their independent learning, demonstrating perseverance, responsibility, and a proactive attitude towards improving their mathematical skills. Certificates will be awarded each week based on the following two areas: time spent on MathsWatch and the number of questions answered correctly on the platform. Winners will receive an Independent Learning Certificate which will be recognised during the respective yearly assemblies.
This award helps foster a culture of independence, motivation, and ownership of learning encouraging all students to build strong study habits and be PROUD of their progress.
We look forward to celebrating our committed learners throughout the summer term and beyond!
