In this unit, students have explored the art of persuasive writing by crafting original short plays that bring their arguments to life on stage. Blending drama with rhetoric, this cross-curricular approach helps students develop their voice, structure compelling arguments, and engage creatively with real-world issues.

Year 8 students Adrika and Preston have effortlessly demonstrated PROUD habits by showing RESILIENCE and DISCIPLINE whilst writing a powerful persuasive piece. Both brought their plays to life with an open mind and understanding of character, fuelling it with confidence and creativity. Well done Year 8s – we are PROUD!

Eastbrook School is an Ofsted rated Good, all-through school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and is part of the Barking Abbey family. Founded in 1933, Eastbrook has a well-established history of serving the local community, with many generations of families attending as students and even joining as staff. The primary school opened in 2016 and is growing in size year on year. The secondary school transferred into new, state of the art buildings in 2017, benefiting from purpose-built specialist learning environments with industry level resources and outstanding access to green outdoor spaces.
