Year 12 Enjoy Memorable Thames Sightseeing Trip to Greenwich

Our Year 12 students enjoyed a fantastic day out in London as part of Enrichment Week, travelling from Westminster Pier to Greenwich aboard a Thames Sightseeing river cruise.

The 70-minute journey along the River Thames provided a unique opportunity to experience London from a different perspective. The entertaining and informative on-board commentary brought the city's famous landmarks and history to life, making the journey both educational and enjoyable. For a little while, everyone was able to switch off from the pressures of coursework, deadlines and everyday challenges, simply relaxing and taking in the sights. It really was a wonderful way to travel.

After arriving at Greenwich Pier, students spent the afternoon exploring the historic area, enjoying its vibrant atmosphere and iconic surroundings. One of the highlights of the day was walking through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel beneath the River Thames - an experience that was completely new for many of our students and one they will certainly remember.

Following a day of sightseeing, exploration and plenty of steps, the group made their way back to Dagenham, returning tired but with smiles on their faces and lots of happy memories to share.

A huge thank you goes to Ms Lotter for organising such a well-planned and enjoyable trip. I would also like to thank the staff who accompanied me on the visit: Ms Downer, Mrs Bishop, Mrs Timms, Ms Ettridge and Mrs Clarke-McGhie. Their support and enthusiasm helped make the day such a success.

Experiences like these are an important part of Sixth Form life, giving students the opportunity to strengthen friendships, broaden their horizons and create lasting memories beyond the classroom.
