Eastbrook Students Rise to the Challenge at M&G
Year 12 students recently took part in an exciting and inspiring Early Career Opportunities Programme delivered by The Talent Foundry in partnership with M&G.
The day began with a fun and engaging ice-breaker activity, helping students build confidence and develop teamwork skills before meeting professionals from across the business.
A real highlight of the visit was an insightful question-and-answer session with M&G CEO, Andrea Rossi. Students were inspired by his advice on the importance of emotional interaction, building relationships with people, and pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone in order to grow personally and professionally.
Following lunch, students were introduced to the world of financial futures and financial literacy. They then put their knowledge into practice in a high-stakes Trading Game, where teams worked together to make investment decisions in a fast-paced environment. Eastbrook students performed exceptionally well and successfully made a reasonable profit during the challenge — well done to everyone involved!
The day concluded with mock interviews and mentoring sessions. Volunteers from M&G generously gave their time to speak with students individually, offering valuable advice, encouragement, and feedback to help prepare them for future careers and opportunities.
This was a fantastic experience for all involved, giving students a valuable insight into the professional world while helping them develop confidence, communication skills, and financial awareness. A huge thank you to The Talent Foundry and M&G for providing such an engaging and memorable opportunity for our students.
