A Day of Insight and Inspiration at Norton Rose Fulbright

Today, a group of our students had the exciting opportunity to visit the prestigious global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright at their impressive London offices. The visit offered a valuable insight into the world of international law and business, and proved to be both inspiring and thought-provoking for all involved.

A Warm Welcome and Introduction

The day began with a warm welcome from the Norton Rose Fulbright team. Students were introduced to the firm’s global reach, core values, and the wide range of services they offer. The team spoke about the importance of innovation, diversity, and social impact in the legal industry—setting the tone for a purposeful and engaging day ahead.

Tour of the Building

Next, students were taken on a guided tour of the building. From stunning views over the Thames to state-of-the-art workspaces, the tour gave students a glimpse into a dynamic corporate environment. The professional atmosphere and impressive facilities sparked curiosity and conversation among the group.

Careers Carousel – Meeting the Team

One of the most enriching parts of the visit was the Careers Carousel. Students had the chance to rotate through small group sessions, meeting a wide range of Norton Rose Fulbright staff—including solicitors, business support professionals, graduate trainees, and early career advisors. They learned about each person’s career journey, day-to-day responsibilities, and the different routes into the legal and corporate world. It was an inspiring opportunity to ask questions and gain real insight into possible future pathways.

Business Negotiation Task

In the afternoon, students took part in a Business Negotiation Task. Working in teams, they were presented with a fictional case scenario and challenged to develop a negotiation strategy. With only limited time, students had to communicate effectively, make decisions under pressure, and then present their findings back to a panel of staff. The task gave a real flavour of the analytical and collaborative skills used in the business world—and every team rose to the challenge brilliantly.

Reflecting on the Day

The visit concluded with an evaluation and reflection session. Students were encouraged to think about what they had learned, how their perceptions had changed, and what skills they might develop in the future. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many students commenting on how the experience had opened their eyes to new opportunities and inspired them to think more ambitiously about their futures.
