Year One’s Beast Hunt
This week, our Year One children embarked on an exciting adventure right here at school—a beast hunt to find a friend for the Lonely Beast, inspired by the beloved book by Chris Judge. The class were buzzing with excitement as they searched high and low, looking for clues around the playground and school grounds.
After their thrilling hunt, the children brought their experiences back to the classroom, where they used their imaginations and writing skills to create diary entries. They wrote about what it felt like to go on a beast hunt, describing the sights, sounds, and feelings they encountered on their quest. This fun and creative activity helped the children to develop their vocabulary and practice their English writing in a lively and meaningful way.
The lesson was a wonderful mix of adventure, storytelling, and learning; encouraging the children to develop both their reading and writing skills while fostering teamwork and creativity. Well done, Year One — we are PROUD of your fantastic beast hunt!
