From Seed to Sprout: A Science Adventure

This week in Science, our Year One children became budding botanists as they began an exciting investigation into how plants grow from seeds. Each child carefully planted their own cress seeds in a pot filled with soil, making sure to gently water them and place them in a safe spot to grow. As part of their learning, the children discussed what plants need to grow—such as water, sunlight, and warmth—and will be observing their cress closely over the coming days and weeks. They’re looking forward to nurturing their plants and seeing how they change and grow over time.

It’s been a hands-on, fun start to their topic on plants, and we can’t wait to see the results of their hard work!

Eastbrook School is an Ofsted rated Good, all-through school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and is part of the Barking Abbey family. Founded in 1933, Eastbrook has a well-established history of serving the local community, with many generations of families attending as students and even joining as staff. The primary school opened in 2016 and is growing in size year on year.
