A Wonderful Week in Year 1!

We have had a fantastic week in Year 1! Both classes have settled brilliantly and have made a great start to their new topics for this half term.

In PSHE, we have been learning about what it means to feel safe and how we can play kindly and safely with our friends. The children have enjoyed talking about what makes them feel safe and have produced some lovely drawings showing themselves playing and getting along with their friends.

In Science, we have started learning all about our bodies. We began by identifying and naming different parts of the human body and had lots of fun thinking about what each body part helps us to do. The children enjoyed sharing their ideas and discovering just how amazing our bodies are!

We have also started our Geography learning about the United Kingdom. The children have been learning about the countries that make up the UK and have had lots of fun discovering the different seas that surround it. They have been fantastic at remembering their new vocabulary and putting their knowledge into practice.

It has been a busy and exciting start to the half term, and we are so proud of how well the children have settled into Year 1. We are looking forward to all the learning and adventures still to come!
