British Science Week: Be Safe, Be Seen

As part of British Science Week, Year 2 took part in the CREST Awards, completing a series of scientific investigations designed to help the children think carefully about the world around them and take part in practical experiments. One investigation was called Be Safe, Be Seen. The children worked in groups to test which material would be best for a coat worn during the darker winter months. To block out the light, they climbed under tables and used their coats to create a darker space before shining a light on different materials to investigate which were the most reflective. We are incredibly PROUD of how the children worked scientifically, tested their ideas and explained their findings.
