Sensory Play in Earth Class
Children in Earth Class have been enjoying a range of sensory play activities designed to stimulate their sense of touch, smell, and sight.
We set up a sensory tray filled with various containers, each containing natural materials such as rose petals, mint leaves and lavender. These were paired with scented liquids like vanilla essence in water and white vinegar. Children were encouraged to explore the textures and colours and to smell the different combinations as the liquids were added gradually—just a spoonful at a time to avoid making the materials too wet.
This hands-on activity was a fantastic way to engage the children’s senses and encourage exploration and discovery through play.
