From Page to Plate: Exploring The Enormous Turnip

This term, the Apollo children have been exploring the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’. Through this engaging book, they not only enjoyed the narrative but also had the opportunity to learn about how turnips are planted and grown. The children took part in various role-play activities inspired by the story and even had the hands-on experience of planting their own turnips. As a special end to the topic, the children were able to see a real turnip and taste both raw and cooked turnip, kindly prepared by our wonderful kitchen staff. This immersive approach helped make their learning experience both meaningful and memorable.
