The Day In The Life Of A Warwick University Student

7 Year 10 students had the opportunity to visit Warwick University and experience a day in the life of one of their students. Walking around the prestigious and vast campus was a great experience and an inspiration, focussing on what our students have ahead of them.

The day, organised by The Naz Foundation, began with an informative presentation about life on the campus and what courses are on offer. The students then visited the manufacturing and engineering buildings to take part in a taster session, using Turtle Stitch software to simulate the manufacturing of textiles. This allowed us to combine block coding with an embroidery machine to design patterns that were unique to our students. The sessions was hosted by a member of staff with a computer science background and experience in the manufacturing industry.

Next was a tour of the campus with ambassadors that are currently studying at the university. The campus was an amazing place, and a talking point amongst our students, who found inspiration from the university, its facilities and the post graduate students.

The final part of the day gave us the opportunity to ask questions about university life to the people that are currently experiencing it. It really allowed the students to find out more about what work they had to put in to get into a fantastic university like Warwick.
