Eastbrook’s Support for Ukraine

Eastbrook School will be holding a non-uniform day this Friday March 18th to raise money for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

On this occasion the school will support a school in Poland that will be welcoming a number of Ukrainian children in the coming days and weeks. The idea is to support them in providing educational resources for their new students.

As part of our character education programme students have been looking into the crisis from a historical perspective alongside considering the human costs of conflict. We have also given our student council and other representative groups the opportunity to contribute to our school response.

Planned Activities

On Friday 18th March we are holding a ‘non uniform’ day for staff and students with students encouraged to wear Blue and Yellow as a sign of support. We are asking everyone to contribute to the cause through a contribution of at least £1 …. however, we would appreciate all members of our community giving more if they are able to.

In addition there will be a number of fundraising activities taking place, for example face painting / nail painting for which students will be asked to contribute a nominal fee.

Note that if parents wish to contribute, they are able to as there will be a direct link on Parent Pay through which you can donate to the cause.

I am sure all members of our community appreciate why we are keen to help the young people who have been displaced from their homes and education, and want to thank you all in advance for your generosity and support.
