Years 4, 5 and 6 P.E.

Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils complete 40 minutes of live virtual PE every Thursday. We have been doing fun dance warm ups including I Am Alive by Will.i.am; a high energy warm up with lots of movement in our legs, arms and core helping to prepare muscles and raise our pulse rate for the lesson.

The main part of the lesson is Active 8 with Joe Wicks. In these sessions pupils workout for 8 x 1 minute exercises with Joe wicks with the help of a Year 4-6 primary aged pupil to perform and demonstrate the different exercises.

Then it’s back to just dance for “I Gotta Feeling”, copying the movements of the pupils on screen to the up beat tune followed on by “Happy”.  This dance is a bit more a challenge but all pupils do well at keeping up!

We finish the PE session with a cool down of stretches, keeping the same cool down each week to teach muscle memory and improve our control and body tension.
