The children in reception had a stunning start to their topic this term as they flew straight into space with a planetarium visiting them on Tuesday.  The dome created a feeling of wonder and awe as the children were wowed by the graphics as they had their first lesson on Space. The presentation started with our incredable Solar System, going through each planet and the condition on that there. The children were so excited and had many questions about what it would be like out in space or on a different planet.

Moving on to the moon landing, the children were amazing at the video of the rocket taking off from earth and how it broke into smaller pieces as the rocket went faster and faster. They were full of curiosity when they came back to class, wanting to know more about Astronauts and how to become one!

What a great start to to a subject, you couldn’t stop the conversation and questions around Space and the Solar system. It was amazing to see the children displaying their of core virtues, showing gratitude for their experience and continuing that curiosity through out their learning week.
