The Planting Patch!

The children put their Topic knowledge to the test during their first experiment of Science week. They were able to recall all the facts they had learnt about plants during their home learning. As a class they set up cress seeds in a container with cotton wool and water. They predicted that the seeds on the window ledge will grow more successfully than the seeds in the cupboard. Inspired by this experiment, the children asked if they could put some seeds in to their planting patch in the outside classroom.

They showed great kindness in their teamwork, helping each other fill up watering cans and collecting soil together. Curious conversations were being had, discussing if a plant could die if they have too much water and questioning how we know what plants the seeds will grow into. They were so joyed to be back together in their outside classroom.
