Stars are Born!

Year 6 once again reaped the benefits of our wonderful cross-curricular approach at Eastbrook today as they created some festive symbols of cheer from the labours of their work on Friday.

Having discovered the power of symbols and their ability to instill fear and terror into people from World War 2, the children were given the opportunity create a symbol of positivity and cheer. The sticks were gathered by the children themselves having coppiced some of the lower hanging branches from our Forest area on Friday.

They were lucky enough to be given a demonstration by our Forest School expert Mrs Fernandes.

Now that the stars have been made, the children will turn their hands to writing an instructional text for others to follow in their footsteps.
