The children in Reception had a visitor in their classroom this week, a not-so-nice visitor who has taken their new constructions bricks and left them a frozen message! He even locked them out of the iPad trolley.

To get to the messages the children had to decide the best way to get into the ice. After a discussion they came up with the solution to pour warm water on the blocks, this clever thinking reviled his messages. They used brilliant vocabulary learning about ice and how it melts into water, the children were able to pull on their own experiences from ice lollies and icy puddles. They were so excited by the idea of this Mr. Freeze and have enjoyed the week role-playing with masks and capes coming up with their own narratives and stories of what he might do next. Let us see what he has in store for Team Reception this half term.
