Today, Mr Peake’s Year 6 maths group got to grips with understanding and investigating the factors of given numbers.

The children used their small cubes to represent the numbers given to them in a variety of different ways to find their different factor pairs.

Alongside drawing diagrams to represent their findings and employing a useful method involving a rainbow, all of the children came away from the lesson with a deeper understanding of what a factor is and could all give some example factor pairs.
