Marvellous Maths

This week in Year Three,  pupils have been learning about multiplication with the use of an array. An array is an assortment of objects organised in a rows or columns. Pupils have been gaining a better understanding of multiplication by exploring grouping with manipulatives so that they have a real concrete experience with multiplication. Pupils also learnt that multiplication is very closely linked with addition because a multiplication calculation can also be represented by repeated addition.  Pupils worked with their partner to arrange counters in an array to show different multiplication calculations.
