Many Hands Make Light Work

During our Autumn term Virtues Day, Year 1 particularly focused on the virtues of courage and co-operation. The children can now define the term ‘courage’ confidently and know that they all have an inner mental strength, known as courage to help them overcome fears and difficulties. Using discussion cards as prompts, the children were able to give their opinion and justify their thoughts about different scenarios and situations which would require different amounts of courage.

We also explored the theme of co-operation by watching the mesmerising teamwork of a very determined and hungry ant colony. During this lesson, the children were so fond of the phrase ‘many hands make light work’ that we produced a masterpiece to display in our classroom.
