Little ‘Red’ Raising Hoods

Year 1 have excelled themselves today by displaying three of our Eastbrook virtues beautifully. To recognise ‘Red Nose Day’ 2021, the children came to school wearing their red clothes and accessories. It was important for them to fully understand why they were participating in this event so we used the Comic Relief Day website and videos to support the children’s understanding of why they were raising money to contribute towards this worthwhile cause. This prompted some very mature conversations about how fortunate we were and the children simply oozed the value of gratitude. This morning, they displayed fabulous teamwork, the second Eastbrook value, as they came in offering their monetary donations with the aim of collectively achieving the highest amount that they could. Mrs Turner was so proud of everybody that we sneaked a little longer in the playground to enjoy the sunshine and practice our value of showing kindness.
