Freeze Frames

Today, Year 4 have been working on conveying a character’s thoughts and feelings through actions. The scene that we focused on for our tableaux was the last scene of Chapter 1 in The Pugs of the Frozen North. The students worked together to use facial expression, posture and positioning to show how Shen was feeling. They then wrote what the character would be thinking at that exact point in the scene. It was amazing to see the creativity come to life in the classroom and this activity helped the students to empathise and understand how we can show feeling without words in a freeze frame.
