Clowning Around…

Following on from Year 1’s recent history learning about famous historical clowns. including Coco the clown, Charlie Cairoli and Albert Fratellini, today the children have designed their own clown masks. They had to consider all of the necessary features for their clown, such as eyes, nose and a mouth but let their creativity loose with shapes, colours and extras, like outrageously coloured wigs, cheek decorations and bow ties.

Next week, the children will papier mache balloons and once dried, cut them in half to have their very own solid clown mask. They will then have to show perseverance to transfer their amazing designs from paper to the masks using paint.
