Something very mysterious happened in Year 1 today- the children had miraculously travelled twenty years into the future and were busy going about their everyday lives, working hard at their chosen professions. Amongst them there were doctors, police officers, vets, fashion designers, models, builders, popstars, chefs, teachers and even a goalkeeper.

Actually, this wasn’t a mystery at all. The families in Year 1 had worked incredibly hard to prepare costumes together as part of their home learning task for this week. This was to kickstart our ‘A day in the life of’ history topic, where the children will enjoy studying the lives of significant historical individuals, including Florence Nightingale, Neil Armstrong and Henry Ford.

Year 1 just cannot wait to get going with this inspiring topic and store all of that very important historical information in their very mature brains.
