In year 4, we have been learning about sound and how it occurs. The children had an opportunity to bang, hit, knock and tap as many objects that they could have in the classroom. The noise and different sounds were tremendous. During our sound exploration, the children discovered that some material made a sound with a low pitch and others made a high pitch when hit. We are also beginning to understand, that the movement of the particles within an object are responsible for the sound it takes.
