The children in Year Two took part in Safer Internet Day and learnt about how to stay safe online and most importantly what to do when they are unsure of what they have seen online. They read a story about Hanni and her magic window at home that showed her lots of different places. The children discussed how Hanni reacted after seeing something that made her close the curtains tight and gave her a funny feeling in her tummy. Hanni kept her feelings inside and didn’t tell anyone, but eventually found the courage to tell her teacher at school. The children know that they can tell a trusted adult about what they have seen online or if they feel unsafe and that a trusted adult will help them. The children drew what they might see in their magic window.
