What makes a good campaign for change
This term, our Criminology students have been hard at work developing their skills for the upcoming Unit 1: Campaigns for Change controlled assessment in January. The unit challenges learners to understand how public campaigns can influence awareness, attitudes, and policies relating to crime.
As part of the assessment criteria, students will be required to design and present their own campaign based on an unseen crime brief provided on the day. To build confidence and creativity, recent lessons have taken place in the IT suites, giving students hands-on opportunities to practice their online design skills.
Working from a practice brief, students have been producing a wide range of campaign materials, including posters, leaflets, merchandise, and social media pages. This practical approach has enabled them to explore how visual communication, persuasive messaging and branding can be used effectively to raise awareness about crime-related issues.
We hope this experience will assist students in creating innovative campaigns on the day and allow them to justify how their campaign is important within current society!
